Tonight I installed Windows 7 in my Sony Viao laptop. I had XP on the laptop so I was not able to do an upgrade. As a result I had to do a complete reinstall.
The reinstall took 30 minutes. The install was basically painless. I had to manually download the Vista Drivers(Windows 7 uses them) for my display controller and my built in card reader. I still can not get the Biometic Processor – the fingerprint reader workings. This is not a big deal for me since I tend not to use it anyway.
The speed on the laptop still seems very good. I still need to install applications and join the laptop to our work domain but I will do that tommorow.
