Lately a lot of people in my personal circle have asked me which Online services I use and why. I thought I would touch on some of the key ones since it might me useful to a lot of people.
Windows live Mesh allows you to setup folders which sync over the Internet to multiple computers. I find this useful since I use 2 laptops and a desktop and their are certain files that I like to have with me no matter where I go. All I need is an Internet connection to do the initial sync. Once the sync is done the folders can be used online or offline.
Carbonite is an off site automatic backup program. This service backups up your data to secured location over the Internet. The cost of this service is $50.00 us per year and it is well worth the money.
1and1 has been my hosting company sine 2004. I host several blogs and websites with them as well as multiple email accounts. Their pricing is still one of the most competive pricing plans on the Internet. Their pricing varies depending on which kind of plan you wish to purchase.
I use a free account to store my pictures on.
5. Flikr Online.
I also use Flikr to store my pictures on. As a Rogers Internet user I am given a free Premium account as part of my subscription.
Most email services have a limitation on how big email attachments can be. You Send It will send an attachment of up to 100MB for free. The service sends the receiver a web link that they can click on to go and download the file.
I use You Tube for entertainment as well as storing my own Videos on.
