Last week someone who does not understand social networking asked me why I use Twiter and what is it. I explained to them Twitter is a Micro-Blog site which has many followers which interact and share interests.
This particular person then asked why use Twitter. That I thought was a really good question. Why do I use Twitter more then other services. Some reasons why are below:
1. I have developed many great friendships and relationships on Twitter.
2. Twitter is a great source when I need some advice on how to do something Technically that I am not sure about.
3. Twitter is the source of news that even conventional media can not cover. A good example of this is the election in Iran. Information was being tweeted by people in Iran even though the conventional media was blocked from doing any reporting.
4. For information on social media Twitter is a good place to be.
5. Twitter clients like TweetDec Twitterefic and TwitterFon make it so easy.
6. Most importantly their is no spam on Twitter. You choose who to to follow and they choose to follow you. You can control content by unfollowing.
