Why Do I Blog

Last week a colleague of mine who I have worked at for a number of years was looking at this web site and asked me an interesting questions. His was why do you blog?

Originally when I started the idea for The-techshop it was a resource web site. It was a site where someone could go to let links and information that family/friends and friends of friends asked me for. When people called me at home to ask for information I used to say go to my web site.

The problem with this kind of site is that the information is static and does not change very much. The original site was HTML based so it took a lot of doing to update it. As a result I never maintained the site as much as I should have or intended too.

I wanted to keep helping people and aiding/providing information. I also wanted to keep the content fresh. After looking at my options the best option was to convert my web site into a blog.

The blog enable me to add new content easily and quickly to the site. I use WordPress and it makes my life real easy from an administrative point of view. One thing the blog does do is enable me to keep sharing and contributing to the Internet community in a timely manner.

If you have not set up a blog consider doing one. It can be a very rewarding experience.
