More On Leo Laporte

Last week I wrote a post on how Leo Laporte is not engaging in social media and how he often sits on the fence on social media issues.

Let me first qualify this by saying I am a fan of Leo’s and I think he provides good information. I listen to many of his podcasts and enjoy the information which I get. Outside of his podcasts and radio show he is not engaging. The biggest reason is I feel that Leo’s podcast network has grown so much. He is adding new content and new podcasts every month.

Why do I bring this up. When Leo started his podcast network, he wanted to make his network different. In one sense it is because it is a tech network for geeks. In a lot of senses their is not a lot of difference between Twit.tv and many big networks. His network has grown at such a rapid pace that he has been less engaging and seems to have lost touch with how he got to be the king of podcasting.

How Does Leo Fix His Engaging Issues:

How does Leo fix his engaging issues you might ask. Here is a list of things he can do:

1. Start to answer more comments on his blog Leoville.

2. Be more engaging with his fan’s on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites. Talk with us not at us.

3. Update is Twit.tv web sites instead of talking about it on his podcasts for months.

4. Hire a social media/web manager to look after Leo’s web sites and at least engage with fans in the social media world.

5. Maintain a Facebook fan page again. Every major company is on Facebook and so is the entire younger generation.

6. Answer Tweets of criticism and do not run away and hide.

7. Have me on your show to answer and debate the merits of what I have been saying!!
