Microsoft Technical Scam Be Warned

This week my Mom got a phone call for a tech claiming to be from Microsoft. He said my Mom had a virus on her PC. Ironic as I completed a scan of it myself an hour before. He wanted to remote to the computer to “fix” the issue. My Mom had the presence of mind to say no and call me.

I have had several friends who have received many calls of this type. My response to this “Do NOT LET THEM REMOTE TO YOUR COMPUTER”

Why you might ask? These phony technicians who claim they are Microsoft really are not. They remote to your computer then install spyware/malware to steal your banking and personal information. These fake technicians are part of an identity theft scam. Please do not give them any access and do not give them your credit card number. Please protect yourself.
